My name is Manoj , and I have been suffering from back and neck pain due to an L5–S1 slipped disc and a few herniated discs in the cervical region, which cause frequent episodes of pain. Recently, I also started experiencing tingling sensations in my feet and toes. In allopathy, the usual treatment options are exercise, painkillers, or surgery. Since the last two are not suitable for long-term relief, I started searching for an Ayurvedic solution and visited a few reputed clinics, including JIVA Ayurveda. When I first met Dr. Kshirsagar, at JIVA, he patiently listened to my condition and explained the Ayurvedic approach in detail. He clarified that while MRI results might not show visible improvement or the disc may not “go back in,” the pain and symptoms can be effectively managed through Ayurveda. He prescribed medicines and recommended 10 sessions of Panchakarma therapy. He has good understanding of Ayurveda and tried to give real picture. Dr. Shrissagar also mentioned that results vary from person to person — some patients recover completely, while others may need continued treatment depending on the body’s response. I decided to proceed with the treatment. The Panchakarma sessions were conducted by Shri Nilesh, who is a genuinely humble and dedicated therapist. Panchakarma treatment can sometimes feel a little awkward and uncomfortable, so it is very important that the therapist is skilled and makes you feel at ease. Shri Nilesh is very experienced and knows exactly how to make patients comfortable. Thank you, Nilesh ji, for your care and professionalism. During the sessions, he also explained the importance of a positive attitude and Ayurvedic lifestyle practices. Even when he was unwell one day, he still came to complete my session — that shows his commitment and sincerity. Since I had planned to visit my hometown for Diwali, I completed the treatment without any breaks. The overall experience at JIVA Ayurveda, Chembur, was excellent. My tingling sensation has reduced by about 80%, and my overall pain has also decreased noticeably. I feel less stressed and more active now. 💡 My Understanding of the Treatment In Ayurveda, back and nerve problems are generally linked to an imbalance of Vata Dosha. The Panchakarma treatment helps pacify Vata, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the nerves. Many people have disc bulges but don’t experience pain — this is because their nerves are strong and there is less internal inflammation. Ayurveda focuses on achieving that balance rather than simply fixing the disc. When inflammation reduces and nerves become stronger, the pain and tingling symptoms subside naturally. It’s also important to continue exercises, follow a healthy diet, and maintain positive habits to support long-term recovery. Reading more about Ayurvedic principles and adjusting one’s lifestyle can further enhance the results.
